General Membership Information and Member Responsibilities

  1. Members, lessees, and guests agree to save harmless Cape St. Claire Swim Club Inc. (CSCSC), the CSCSC Board of Governors, the management company and its employees from any and all liabilities and/or action of any person resulting from the use of the swimming pool, wading pool, or pool grounds.
  2. Rules and Regulations and the Bylaws are established by the CSCSC Board of Governors and the CSCSC membership and are in accordance with Anne Arundel County Health Department.
  3. The CSCSC Board of Governors reserves the right to change the rules and regulations without prior notice.
  4. All persons using the pool agree to abide by these Rules and Regulations and any additional rules posted and administered by the manager and staff. They further agree to accept the penalties for infraction of those rules and regulations.
  5. For address verification purposes, review of a government-issued ID may be required for anyone that is 18 or older as of May 1st of the current year, before membership access is granted.
  6. CSCSC is only to be used by the person(s) named on the membership account. Proof of identity may be requested by the pool manager/designee before admittance to CSCSC. Misuse of membership may result in loss of club privileges, including forfeiture of membership or lease.
  7. Members, lessees, and guests must check in upon entry by giving their name(s) to the guard at the gate or by signing in the log if no guard is present.

General Policies

  1. The pool may be closed at any time due to mechanical breakdowns, operational difficulties, inclement weather, special club events, or other appropriate circumstances.
  2. Proper bathing attire is required.
  3. All music must be kept at a low volume.
  4. No abusive/profane language or breach of peace will be tolerated. This may result in immediate ejection from the pool.
  5. No harassment of lifeguards, staff, or guests will be tolerated.
  6. Wheeled vehicles, bicycles, motorbikes, skateboards and rollerblades are not permitted on the pool deck at any time. They should be parked in designated areas outside of the fence.
  7. No glass of any kind is permitted in the facility. All trash must be disposed of in a trash container.
  8. No pets are permitted in the facility.
  9. Alcoholic beverages may be used with discretion and in accordance with state laws. For health and safety reasons, members who are visibly intoxicated will be asked to leave the premises.
  10. Chairs are permitted behind the red lines only.
  11. Smoking and vaping is not permitted on the grounds, including the parking lot.
  12. Reserving furniture is not permitted.
  13. Parents are responsible for the safety and behavior of their children when using CSCSC facilities. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by an adult or designated babysitter 13 years of age or older who is present at all times.
  14. The cost of any damage to CSCSC property will be charged to the responsible party. Neither CSCSC nor the pool management company will be responsible for loss of or damage to personal property of any kind. Lost and found items will be discarded regularly.

Hours of Pool Operation

  1. The pool grounds will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting, from Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. Swim hours are 11:00 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. Hours of operation may be adjusted in late August due to guard availability. No one is permitted on CSCSC grounds after close.
  2. Adult swim will be called every hour between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Adult swim is provided for swimmers 16 years of age and older.
  3. The pool will be closed during inclement weather at the discretion of the Manager or management company, with notification and approval by a Board member.
  4. The pool may be closed for maintenance or for reasons involving health and safety as determined by pool management. Advance notice will be given as conditions permit.

Guests and Babysitters

  1. Each membership is limited to 5 guests per day, except in conjunction with a scheduled party. One Guest credit must be used per guest between 2 and 60 years old; other guests are free.
  2. Guests who are foster children, under 2 years of age, or age 60+ are free and do not require a guest credit.
  3. CSCSC Governors are allocated two free guests credits per day for the duration of the season.
  4. A sponsoring member or lessee must sign in guests. Sponsoring members or lessees must remain with guests at all times, When the member or lessee leaves, guests must also leave.
  5. Members and lessees may purchase a one-season Babysitter Pass online through Member Splash to be used by a non-member chaperone, age 13 or older, for member or lessee children under the age of 10.
  6. Members and lessees must be at least 12 years of age to sponsor guests. Members and lessees under 12 years of age may sponsor their grandparents as guests.
  7. Members and lessees will be held responsible for all actions of their guests. The cost of any damage to CSCSC property by a guest will be charged to the member or lessee.
  8. Members and lessees may purchase guest credits online through Member Splash.
  9. Guest credits do not expire. Guest credits do not convey with membership sales and have no cash value.

Health Regulations

  1. Anyone who is not feeling well or is suspected to be ill must stay home. Members, lessees, and guests should follow COVID-19 guidance.
  2. All persons must shower before entering the pool.
  3. Only toilet-trained children, 2 years of age or older, are allowed in the main pool. Any incidence of human feces, blood, or vomit in the main or wading pool must be reported to the lifeguards, and the pool must be closed in accordance with Health Department regulations.
  4. Food, drinks, chewing gum, street shoes, and strollers are not allowed to remain inside the red line on the main pool deck or inside the blue line in the wading pool enclosure.
  5. Expectorating, nose blowing, spouting of water, eliminating body wastes, and any other unhygienic acts into the pool are prohibited.
  6. Persons with open sores or wounds are not permitted to enter the pool.

Wading Pool

  1. This pool is intended for the use and enjoyment of children 6 years of age and younger and their parents. Running, pushing, wrestling or undue disturbance will not be tolerated. Older children who act inappropriately or jeopardize the safety of younger children will be permanently suspended from this area.
  2. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult or designated babysitter 13 years of age or older who is to be present at all times.
  3. Children who are not toilet trained must wear swim diapers. No cloth diapers, disposable diapers, or training pants are permitted under any circumstances.

General Pool Safety

  1. Running, pushing, wrestling, or causing undue disturbances will not be permitted on the club grounds or in the pool.
  2. Non-swimmers who are children must be accompanied in the water by an adult and must be closely supervised at all times.
  3. Children under 16 years of age must pass the swim test to be permitted beyond the 4 foot marker. Children under 16 years of age, who have not passed the swim test, are permitted beyond the 4 foot marker if they are within arm’s length of a responsible adult, and that adult has obtained permission from the lifeguards. These children may not use the diving well for any reason, even with an accompanying adult.
  4. To pass the swim test, a child must swim 50 yards (2 lengths of the pool) in no more than two minutes, without resting on the walls or touching the bottom. If the child passes, they must then tread water continuously for one minute. Swimmers may only attempt the test once per day. Anyone not taking the test must remain behind the red line. Guards have final say on all aspects of the test. Lifeguards will maintain a list of all who pass the swim test.
  5. Only one person may be on the diving board at a time. The well must be cleared before subsequent dives. Only one bounce is permitted. Divers may not wear floatation devices nor jump towards the walls.
  6. Swimming and game playing is permitted in the diving well only when the diving board is not in use.
  7. All personal injuries, however slight, must be reported to the lifeguards.
  8. Swim masks, goggles, swim fins, snorkels, and noodles are permitted at the discretion of the lifeguards and management.
  9. The use of flotation equipment, other than U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets, is not permitted.

Parties

  1. Use of the pavilion and grills is first come, first served, except when reserved for a club event, swim team event, or private party
  2. A private party is a scheduled gathering including more than five non-members, and must be scheduled through the Social Chairperson
  3. Private party requests must be submitted online, along with all fees and deposits, 14 days prior to the event
  4. Private parties are subject to lifeguard availability as applicable

Membership

$1,850, paid once at purchase of membership. In the case of a private membership transfer, this amount is negotiable between buyer and terminating member

$50 to be assessed on April 11th of each year, plus an additional $50 assessed on the first day of each subsequent month of delinquency
Membership Transfer Fee (private transfers)
$50, paid by the new member to the CSCSC
Membership Transfer Fee (club-facilitated sales)
$200, deducted from amount returned to terminating member by the CSCSC after completion of the sale
Private Lease Fee (family-to-family)
$300, paid to CSCSC by the lessee (in addition to any privately-negotiated amount paid by the lessee to the lessor)
Club Lease Fee (club-to-family)
$950, paid to CSCSC by the lessee

$7 each
Babysitter Pass
$100 per season (to be used for a supervisor of minor children)

Penalties

Violations of these Rules and Regulations may result in suspension or expulsion at the discretion of the CSCSC Board of Governors (see Bylaws Article IX).

Revisions

The CSCSC Board may amend these Rules and Regulations and Fees at any time. Any CSCSC member in good standing may submit a written request for changes to the Rules and Regulations to the CSCSC Board of Governors.
