Cape St. Claire Swim Club (CSCSC) Membership Leasing Options
Private (Family-to-Family) Leases
CSCSC members may temporarily transfer their membership privileges to another family, subject to the following conditions:
- The leasing Member must inform the Board of Governors in writing of the terms and conditions of the lease
- The lessee must be approved by the board in the same manner as a new member
- The length of the leasing period must be for a minimum of thirty (30) days
- All indebtedness incurred by the member must be paid prior to approval of the lease
Community members are given preference, but lessees are not required to be Cape St. Claire residents. Membership privileges extended to the lessee apply to named family members residing at a single address and do not include club voting rights. Private leases are subject to fees set by the Board of Governors, and any payment between the lessee to lessor is their private agreement and responsibility.
Club (Club-to-Family) Leases
The CSCSC Board of Governors monitors facility use and demand and may annually make up to 25 club leases available. Club leases have the same requirements as and benefits of private leases, but are assessed a single specific fixed fee, paid to the CSCSC.
Finding a Lease
Private (Family-to-Family) Leases
If you have not already connected with a member who wishes to lease to you, there are two ways families usually meet:
- Most leases are between existing friends or families that have connected via posts made directly on one of the community Facebook groups.
- CSCSC provides an electronic Membership Marketplace forum for connecting families that want to buy, lease, or sell. Scroll to the bottom of this page for more information.
All terms between the member lessor and lessee must be negotiated privately before moving forward with the application process.
Club (Club-to-Family) Leases
Please check availability by emailing membership@capeswim.org, allowing at least seven days for a response.
CSCSC Membership Leasing Process
Once a potential lessee and member lessor have negotiated private terms, or you have received confirmation that a club lease is available, follow these steps:
1. Review and Understand the CSCSC Bylaws and Rules and Regulations
The applicant (and member lessor in the case of a private lease) must read the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations and understand their responsibilities.
2. Complete and Submit an Application
Download and complete the appropriate lease application:
The leasing family must obtain a written recommendation from a current member in good standing who is not the lessor.
In the case of a private lease, the lessor member must pay their annual dues, and all terms between the member lessor and lessee must be negotiated privately before a lease application is submitted.
Submit the completed, signed application and recommendation to membership@capeswim.org.
3. Receive Approval and Submit Fee Payment
The CSCSC Board of Governors must review and approve your lease. The board meets monthly, but we try to expedite approvals when possible. Please wait for a board member to notify you by email about the status of your lease application.
Upon board approval, the lessee will receive access to a Member Splash account (our secure account management vendor) where you must electronically submit the appropriate fee payment to complete the lease. Potential lessees should see the Schedule of Fees within the CSCSC Rules and Regulations for additional optional costs they may incur.
4. Enjoy!
Once approval has been received and fees have been paid, the lessee may immediately begin taking advantage of their CSCSC membership lease!
